the remaking of a kitchen

we are back at home, and have begun painting. chris the floor man was here today and did some critical measuring. we made the decision on where the wood floor would end, and for now we are keeping carpeting down the hallway to the bedrooms. there will still be tile in the area just inside the front door and entry closet, meaning we have to remove (CAREFULLY!!) some of the tile. we got precise instructions on that, so we will NOT damage the tile we want to remain as is. there will be crossed fingers on that part. scary!
they will move the heavy furniture, and we will have to decide where all the furniture will be stored in the house for a few weeks. should be interesting. the leather sofa will dwell permanently in the basement, so we will need a new smaller sofa or loveseat for the living room. it is exciting to think about how the rooms will change with the addition of a beautiful new floor. sigh.
the team arrives on tuesday and will rip out the carpet, move the heavy stuff and return on wednesday with the wood and get on with the project.
