the remaking of a kitchen

sarah and david are visiting us for the holidays and are freezing. their cali blood is just not up to the cold we are experiencing! they have bankys, hot drinks, reading by the fire etc, but still they freeze!
we are having a good time.....sarah and i visited a spa and then had lunch while don and david did some mall hopping and revived themselves with lunch.
it is still darn cold, but supposedly the end as is in warmer weather is just around the corner!

today started warmishly....for here. mid thirties with rain and then lowering into the twenties and freezing that rain. i decided that a full tank of gas is smarter than a nearly empty on in cold weather, and it was pretty slippery driving the short distance to the station. then there were some snow flakes, and NOW there are more. the wind is blowing, and we are much luckier than the citizens north of here. i-94 was closed at alexandria and may open in the morning. yikes.

yesterday and today were the days i chose for my home jewelry sale. sale would be a glorified description, BUT it was great fun to see friends and get a chance to have some quiet visits. i had baked some cookies and made hummus as well as some hot spiced cider. i have to mention that several glasses of wine were enjoyed too!
i was able to get several pairs of my new earrings completed so i am better prepared for upcoming opportunities. what a good attitude i have. :)

well we went to the game and it wasn't quite as cold as predicted so that was good news. the team came through with a highly improbable win.....they should've won anyway, but not by a 57 yard field goal and a last minute interception. whatever, we will take it!!
we had fun seeing dick and judy, diana and erika and jenny b....eating a whole thanksgiving dinner of leftovers which were really delicious!
now we are home and it is cold again after a warmish sunday. we met friends at the local for fish and chips that night and somehow ended up watching the holidazzle parade, from inside the pub. a very good idea!
the neighbors have colorful lights this year which everyone is enjoying. several neighbors have special lights and we are loving it. we may even join in.
don took some time today to make labels and we now have a nicely identified snack hole in case some people are interested.
