Another skype call with sweet siena
today we had a great skype visit with sarah and siena. siena was in fine form, she actually laughed out loud at one point and she was "talking" and smiling away most of the time. she even demonstrated her new tricks....she can move! it does involve a lot of flapping, but then she bounces or hops forward on her little rear. it's very sweet. i took many many snaps, so here we go. the really close ups are when she was diving at the computer; in fact she was able to close the lid a couple of times. the side view of her smiling is when she saw her daddy in the front garden. she alternated looking at pictures in her books and chewing on them.....very tasty titles for sure.
one of my faves is her lifting her foot, so she could get it into her mouth! :)

i am just back from a lovely visit to omaha...staying at my friend judy's basement motel. i had a wonderful visit with her and her family, plus i was able to touch base with so many friends. it was very therapeutic and i think i just need to do something like that more often!! we even went to the henry doorly zoo which has changed so much since i last visited. it was a great treat!

Home sale

yesterday and today were the days i chose for my home jewelry sale. sale would be a glorified description, BUT it was great fun to see friends and get a chance to have some quiet visits. i had baked some cookies and made hummus as well as some hot spiced cider. i have to mention that several glasses of wine were enjoyed too!
i was able to get several pairs of my new earrings completed so i am better prepared for upcoming opportunities. what a good attitude i have. :)

OLD friends

on sunday, john and julie drove to lincoln and we who also drove there to our next motel, met for lunch and then a tour of the new quilt museum on the east campus. we topped that off with ice cream from the dairy store. aaaaaaah. moooo.
they soon had to leave for columbus to pick up dogs and we headed back to the motel to just r-e-l-a-x! the next afternoon i spent a couple of hours with my aunt jackie who is on hospice care at home....the same group who helped auntie lee through her last days. we had a lovely visit.....always lots to discuss. we both worked in silver and really enjoyed it and occasionally ran into each other at art fairs which was pretty cool. i asked if she needed to run any errands or wanted to get a snack and happily she suggested the dairy store, so ice cream 2 days in a row! when i left she gave me a big hug and told me she loved me.....not something said often enough in the family in which i was raised. i love her too and told her. i hope to get to see her again when we drive to lincoln to a football game.
on tuesday we drove to omaha, and while don went to the old market, i had lunch with liz who was celebrating a birthday and kay lynn who's birthday i will surely miss next month. we talked and talked and had a lovely time. i realized it was also the 20th anniversary of our move to minnesota. now that is hard to believe!
